(in-VAY-guhl, -VEE-)

MEANING:
verb tr.: To get something or to persuade someone to do something by deception or flattery.

ETYMOLOGY:
From Old French aveugle (blind), from Latin ab- (away from) + oculus (eye). Earliest documented use: 1513.

USAGE:
